GiAnT4LYFE's 2004 Grand Prix GTP

Recommended Posts

Well, I'm fairly new to SMD and wasn't all that knowledgeable about car audio when I installed my current system in my car about 2 years ago. I have always been able to "do the work" but often needed to be told what to do.

Currently I am running the following:

Pioneer Premier DEH-P600UB

MTX Thunder 6000 6.5" components

Viper d600.1

10" Alpine Type R 2ohm

Knu Konceptz 4 ga amp kit

Ported box, built and carpeted by myself

I going to be installing the following in my car when my 2 12" Level 4 1ohm's arrive:

Pioneer Premier DEH-P600UB

Massive Audio CK5's and CK6's

Digital Designs C4A (front stage)

DC 2k

2 DC Level 4 12" 1ohm

Big 3 in 1/0 welding cable

XS Power d3400 in trunk

1/0 runs of Kolossus Fleks to rear battery

40' of Audio Wrap SPL formula in trunk

Here are some pics of the current system. I will make a video after work and post it on here just so you can see what "bump" I have now.

The power wire is the most embarassing part of the build. :noob::noob:

I was having a bitch of a time getting it all put together in the parking lot of my job, and found a way to run it that way without it pinching at all.

I will NOT be running wire that way ever again, lol. It was a way "to get by" that I still haven't corrected. My runs of 1/0 pos and neg to the back will be going through the firewall on the passenger side.

Its all good. Running power wire, if done correctly is a time consuming process atleast it was for me. taking out the interior and running and ziptie'n it all up and now i got to take it all out again and run another run of PW lol. It also doesnt help when u got a v8 shoved up in the front end of an Impala im working with just about the same or even less space then you right now lol.

Here is a video of the current setup. I know it doesn't seem like anything special, but it sounds pretty good in the car.

Edit: I did record this with my iPhone and that's where you are hearing the distortion from.

  • 8 months later...

It's been a long time since I've been on here. In Sept I was diagnosed with B Cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma/Leukemia. That took over everything that has been going on over the past 5 months, but I'm almost done with the treatments.

Best part is...my scan in Jan revealed that all the original places the cancer was are gone, so now its just to make sure every last bit is out of me.

Now I REALLY have to update this thread with some pics and vids!!

Thanks fellas. Shitty thing is, I've had my Level 4's, DC 2K, Massive Audio components, and my DD C4A in there since Sept and still haven't taken a vid or pics yet, ftmff lmao. It was literally the last thing I accomplished before everything got flipped upside down. By Sunday I'll have updated pics and vids....promise.
