skyhighcaraudio Posted July 13, 2011 Report Share Posted July 13, 2011 Due to me being over a single sub set up and getting irritated at my system not being loud anymore after a week of having it (this repeating cycle i went through for a while) I decided to just go all out and do the biggest system I could fit in my 4 door Sierra 2500HD. Disclaimer: Though my name may make me look like a shop i am far from that...i do have dreams of opening my own shop once i graduate from college (in two semesters) and when this recession/depression (not getting into it lol) gets over with. I do what it to be called Sky High Car Audio...so someday that will happen because this is what i love doing but today is not that day to open a business when what you are selling in a recreational expense. I did EVERY OUNCE of the work you will see to my truck myself and i am pretty happy with how its coming out so far. Previous system: Pioneer AVIC N3 DC Level 5 12 DC 3.5k amp Crappy 220 amp alt with 2 batts in back Knukonceptz cable all around RF R300-4 pushing the mids and highs RF P1S652s in the front doors RF P1 6x9 in rear doors Clarion EQ New system: Pioneer 6300 flip out (moved down to the console for ipad in dash bezel) iPad 2 in dash bezel (in progress) 4 DC XL 15"s in back seats spot (awaiting shipment) Box: 13.4 cubes, 161"s of port area (its all i could fit) tuned to 36 hz, flush mount top with sponge paint 1 DC lvl 3 10" with custom dust cap that sits between front seats to fill the void 2 DC 3.5ks at .5 ohm (hopefully going to upgrade to 4 when I get better batteries for the back) 2 sets of RF P1S652 in fiberglass pods in front doors 1 set of P1S652s in console 1 set T1S652s and 1 set of P1 3.5s in rear pods 2 RF R300-4s for the mids and highs Mechman 270 along with stock 145 amp alt Stinger Volt meter All Knukonceptz wiring (2 runs to the back batts, 8 gauge for sub wiring, 12 gauge for speaker wiring and all RCAs) Procar racing seats in front (no rear seat) 4 batteries in the back (for the time being...i want to upgrade them but dont have the 1000 it will cost for XS Powers) Clarion EQ I have worked pretty hard on the exterior previously and here whats ive got: Tore the head lights and blinkers apart to paint the inside Have LED tail lights i painted with VHT Nightshades Tapes off and painted all logos to match truck Lights the front to level it Painted the old rims I had to match the truck Pulled off and painted the mirrors and handles with Perfectmatch paint Also did every other piece of plastic on the truck except the tailgate cap and rear bumper caps (because i use it as a truck a lot) Billet grill 496/Allison tranny badging Straight pipe exhaust Serious window tint (very recent since i started this new system build) So heres my truck and what I have to work with... The screws have since been changed because I hated the drywall screw look...just looked thrown together and dumb I also put suede in the top inserts so they would match the door pods which are covered in suede after the fiberglass was sanded to all hell. These are the old rear door panels before i replaced them with the 6.5s and 3.5s. I just was not a huge fan of the 6x9s. Its gonna be loud lol well it better if i turned my 6 seater truck into a 2 seater haha Im originally from So Cal but I moved up to Reno to play football at UNR and go to school about 3 years ago...free school will get you to move about anywhere lol But i no longer play, i stopped about a year ago and since have been working and going to school. it made no sense to move back to cali cause im so close to done i might as well wait it out.
