American Bass Phantom series any good?

Recommended Posts

The Phantom series by American Bass uses the Sound Magus board/internals which is the same guts as what Massive Audio Nano series uses.

AB PH2500 = Massive Audio N3

AB PH4000 = Massive Audio N4

On a positive note, the AB variant seems to be obtainable for a cheaper price then their Massive Audio counterpart.

The PH4000 has been compared against the AQ2200 and said to be "louder" here --> http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/119726-american-bass-phantom-series-amps/page__view__findpost__p__1686307

Here is a formal review by PASMAG on it's little brother (PH2500)

I've compiled all of this information because I'm researching new amps too and had this amp on my shortlist.

Thanks guys, I think I might just get the AB. I'm stuck between a Hifonics 2400brz and that AB amp. Just need a little bit more time to look around and make up my mind. Any more suggestions would be helpful

Before you buy a Hifonics think about the Diabolo or the Memphis amp, from the quality the better once.

Advantage of the AB is the size.

Just remember make sure it's CEA compliant.. also you have a beefy electrical those hifonics are power hungry.
