Pioneer~Saturn
After a long slumber it'll be back in action. Still have the AQ20 in hibernation and already have the first 15 on the way (you'll see what I'm going with when the first one arrives) Starting today the saturn will be seeing steady work, though a lot of the work/progress will be pretty boring because it'll consist of taking the sunroof out to reinforce the ceiling and glass the whole roof of the car over and repainting it so it'll be solid and leakproof. The interior/floor/everything will be slicked out to be one flowing surface inside, center console will be glassed in place, also flowing into the floor seamlessly etc etc. I'm hoping I'll have enough time to get to the inside of the box, slick everything out, paint it, and cut a hole on each side of the enclosure with plexi to see inside (but no promises). I have 4 pairs of components I'm hoping to get in as well but one pair has been in the saturn for years and years (lame)...so I may be hunting down another pair so everything's new. Reinforcing the front doors will be in order if the mids happen...may be heading to my buddy to weld inside the doors and then I'll reinforce/deaden further. And once the sunroof is out completely/foam all cleared out I'll be getting to some lighting of some kind in the ceiling on the interior but havent decided on what I'm going to do there. Anyways, here's a little I got done just now... The pyles...all blown ...they actually weren't bad at all for what they're worth... Pioneer~Saturn
Got a bit tired of the foam+glass uptop so I moved inside and started sanding down the inside of the enclosure a bit and some of the floor... Started planning out and getting my center console going, cutting ribs for the basic shape...(will be glassed right into the floor seamlessly) These will eventually make the shape for the center console, then glassed around... Pioneer~Saturn
Stuff I found in the basement...Could come in handy... The first few times it went on I added chop mat to it but from here on out it should just be sand+resin mixture. Pioneer~Saturn
Got it playing I installed the pair of sp4's that I already have and put them on my ol' trusty crossfire 1k @ 1 ohm. All I can say is that these subs are going to do disgusting things in this enclosure...even on just the 1k and the 3rd sub not here yet hairtricks would be a breeze...most likely with both windows down (not quite door-open worthy yet but will be ). Anyways, here are some sloppy pics of the sloppiness I'm really not pleased with how it'll come together for slamology but ive got to do what ive got to do...
