TNichy
I bought a MA audio hk802sx used. Wired it up and all seemed well. moved amp and mounted on the box, then noticed that when good solid bass notes and even just jarring of the box, caused the amp to give loud feedback type of noise. I opened the top (polished) cover and found that there had been an untrained repair to the RCA jacks inside the amp. I thought that the loose ground wire on the RCA mount may have been the cause. put it all back together and tested with (yes, I know it's not common practice, but...) a sharp knock on the speaker box with the handle of a screwdriver. There was still the loud thump and when knocked again the feedback also happened again. I found another repair on the lower right side of the board between the mosfets and the speaker outputs. There had been a blown resistor and it had been replaced with another resistor, but it is a much larger resistor. I'm not sure if these two resistors could possibly be of the same rating or if the person had just thrown another resistor in the spot to make sure there was one there. I can't find any information about the board to learn what size resistor was originally in this location. If anybody has any info, please let me know. 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee LimitedHU: Pioneer Premier DEH-P790btFront doors: JBL Gt series 6x9'sRear doors: StockSub Amp: DC Audio 3.5K Subs: 2 DC Audio lvl 4 12's with XL uprades and carbon fiber capsAlternator: Mechman 240 Wire: Wirez 1/0 awg OFC amp wire kit
Kranny
those amps aren't worth fixing IMO. all i've seen them do is make themselves into fire.
8ight
I would throw that amp in the trash and chalk it up as a loss. I'm gonna hate
