Hey everyone! So im finally starting to upgrade my system and i managed to get my hands on a 10 inch Alpine Type X, the 1042d Model. it takes 1000 watts rms and peaks at 3000. I got the sub and box for a good deal and now all i need is an amp. I was looking around for something that can put out 1000 at 2ohms and havent really came across alot in my price range. I was looking at the power acoustik RZ1-2300d. Puts out 1400 watts rms at 2ohms. I can get it shipped to my door taxes inc for 158$. Doesnt seem like a bad deal. What do you guys think?

Most if not all PA amps don't put out rated. You could try looking on http://www.sonicelectronix.com/ They have several amps near that price range that would be better. This is what I'd go with for your output/price.  http://www.sonicelec...E-R1000-1D.html

Look into some of MB Quarts amps. They're pretty nice little amps. Plus they're budget friendly.

I would need 1000 Watts on 2 ohms so the sub will be running at its best. Ive on a budget so the Rockford with taxes and shipping inc is 262 which doesnt seem bad but if there is something of smal quality for less i will check it out.

Can't go wrong with Rockford for Power. Hifonics work on a budget as well, but only get the BRZ, Bxi, or newer BRX line. The HFI series is current hungry and won't put out rated unless you can REALLY keep voltage up(which may be harder being as it is a less efficient amp).
A lot of guys have been happy with the MB Quart ONYX line, it's under the same umbrella as Hifonics products(all Maxxsonics owned I believe)

That specific Rockford DOES like to get warm, make sure you have some airflow going to it. The newer version of the Prime amps are a lot better, those first generation get warm. I had one and it got hot, never once did it go into protect mode though. They are stout little amps with a small footprint.
