Wicks
this is awesome Yes... yes it is. Very very cool brother WICKS. Back in the day, that amp was highly thought of, and by some, myself included, still is. Such a cool addition to your build bro. Great idea. And great execution man! I had one the 200 and that was a great amp. Just keep going and not get hot. That's too sweet man. Old school gear at it's finest. I've always had wood for JUST about anything you say because I can accept it as truth. Beautiful work on the amp and bringing her back to life. I remember the old school, it was a good time to be into car audio. What kind of power did you end up getting out of it with the new parts? Wicks you have skills sir. Love what you did to that amp. I Love that amp. Love the old school RF amps. Would you be interested in fixing one of my old RF amps? If so, pm me. um... yeah! That is amazing quality work. Just an outstanding rebuild there. Thanks All, awesome comments, much appreciated! I haven't tested the amp on the bench yet to get numbers, but I'll see what I can do. It does sound pretty good on my Hertz HSK130's though! Jarred: I don't have schematics for many old amps other then my own and its fairly necessary to properly "fix" an amp rather then just replace bad parts. I also don't have large enough bench power supplies and/or power resistor loads to fully test the amps afterwards. Its one thing to fix them for myself, but its a whole other responsibility to fix them for somebody else (customer). Plus it would probably be against forum rules for me to take "jobs" from other members without being a "vendor". I appreciate the thought though. We'll see what brews in the future? Old school gear isn't just built very well, it brings back some great memories of my friends and I just getting into audio and saving up most of our summer job money to buy whatever we could afford at the time. Now that I can actually afford most of that great equipment from back in the day, I've hit up eBay and have collected some gems. Keep your eyes out for some more posts. Maurice Williams
Hello nice work! I have the same amp and I am restoring it. Would you happen to know what resister is at r17? The cover on my r17 has peeled off from heat.
