Big-A
My brother and a couple friends bought Skar components over the last few months. In total we have installed 6 sets and all of them are having issues with the tweeters cutting out at high volumes. After our dealer contacted Kevin he came back with a solution of running a cap inline between the amp and the passive crossover. Kevin told him that they were aware of the crossover issues and that the next run of components would have better units. After recieving this info I really didnt think the cap was the answer as it would act like an inline filter but were ordered them anyways. Well after wasting time and money on the caps it didnt work, as thought they acted like filter on the signal going into the crossover. Now were are stuck with six pairs of components that we are purchasing passive crossovers for. Long story short, be mindfull that Skar is selling a product that they are aware has issues and are offering no fix for. If you buy the components you very well may have issues. Big-A
I will address the previous post. As far as returning I bought from a small company that is referring issues to Skar who's answer is the next batch will be fixed. As far as other people not having problems, I am aware that they don't do it all the time because a set I installed on an Arc Audio amp plays perfect. The others were on Alpine and Skar amps and all gains set with O-Scope. With the crossovers swapped out the speakers sound good but who wants to pay 130 for components with the chance you may have to buy crossovers. 2004 Dodge Ram Head unit- Alpine iDA-x305s Sound processor- Clarion eqs746 Mids/Highs amp- Alpine MRV-F345 Sub Amp- Alpine MRD-M1005 Dash Speakers- (3) Dayton Audio rs75 Front Door- Skar SPX65c Rear fill- Skar SPX tweters and Dayton ND140 midbass Sub- Fi Audio SSD 15 high QTS SHCA power/ground cables and Stinger interconnect XS power D6500 under the hood and D680 in the amp rack Big 3+ with SHCA http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/161174-dodge-ram-quad-cab-fi-ssd15-skar-audio-alpine-shca/?p=2326251

skaraudio
Post wasn't to discus the issue, it was to point out the fact they are selling a product that they are aware has issues. We are aware of the issue with the capacitor within the cross over that is making this happen with the tweeter. However, a significant amount of customers have no problems AT All with this which is why we are continuing to sell them, and offer the fix as a temporary solution. All of our new shipments of the VXi65's going forward we have addressed this issue and it will no longer happen to those that it is. We are more then happy to exchange these 6 six sets for you if you are having issues at the end of the month when the new shipment comes in.
