How smelly do your dc subs get?

Recommended Posts

My understanding is those 3.5ks put out up around 4k

Thats cool. Im way too old to be upset by shit like that. Your name is winston. Your own parents hated you even before you were born.

My penis is bigger than your penis

I'm far from loud and my roof/headliner flaps around like Adam's ass on a windy day. I think it depends more on the structure of the vehicle.

A 3.5 per is pushing their limits. It's very possible it's the power and then even the slightest clipped signal can cause it. I run about 3k per 9515 so I'm at their upper limit. Clean music is ok but as soon as something comeson tthat's the slightest bit dirty look out

What power and what is your enclosure like?

Mine never got stinky. Level 3's on a DC 2k.

dual 2's with strapped 3.5k's in a box that Rusty gave me specs for, it is tuned to 36hzIMAG0644_zps3b9971f1.jpg

So, you're wired to 1 per amp? If so, that would be why they're stinky lol.

after rise there is know way their actually getting 3500 watts... I just went with the subs rusty recommended. I know its not power issue, it is clipping issue.

So if you know what it is what's the point of the thread? No sub should smell regularly. Some have a slight glue smell when first played, but most should not.

And it's probably not clipping that much, but since you are running so much power to them, even slight clipping is likely to make them smell.

Only way to be sure is to use Audacity and buy an oscope.

I think it is clipping issue because of my bass knob light. the reason for the thread was to find out if you all get smelly without clipping/if clipping is the reason, why is it clipping when tuned correctly?

Because you can only guarantee a clean signal which is what you did. It's still up to you to make sure that you don't introduce dirty signal in by playing dirty music. The Dd-1 is as dummy proof as you can get but it's not 100 percent just tune and forget.

how's your voltage.....as long as I stay above 13v or so I'm good

start playing hard into upper 12's and I can get a little bit of smell

low voltage isn't good

well I know voltage never drops below 12.5 and that is only for a few seconds if I am stopped at a light, but as long as I am driving it is above 13

It's ok if it's clean and you also dd-1ed your blue tooth to ensure you are getting a clean signal there too. If you rip music from YouTube I'm betting it looks pretty scary
