XS Power

Recommended Posts

There's an XS that will fit in, & work in nearly every application.

What is a "96R"?

EDIT: My bad, ... 96R = a BATT type? If so, just match up specs ... A little more here or there does not hurt.

Would a group 51r fit? Go out there with a tape measure and double check. It's perfectly acceptable to get a new tiedown and remove the stock battery insulator/cover to make things work. For example my own car, original battery was a group size 35, but I managed to fit a group 34 battery in there. Had to remove the cover and stock battery tray to make it work

51r:

Length – 9.04 in
Height – 8.19 in
Width – 5.43 in

I think that might fit. I'll have to check in the morning, I'm not home right now. But if I were to throw an xs D5100 up front what should I throw in the back?

I'm trying to run alpine MRX-M240 @ 2,400 watts, 2 alpine type Rs on 1/0 ga.

What does your voltage drop look like now? Have you done the big 3?

If it were me, I'd start by doing the following:

Do your "Big 3"

Upgrade your front battery

Check over said shop's wiring - make sure connections and grounds are up to snuff

Possibly replace said shop's POS wire

Invest in a volt meter of some sort and hook it up to your amp. That way you know what voltage your amp sees. It's a very powerful tool to have and will come in handy for both diagnosing on the fly and insuring the health and well-being of your amplifier&electrical

I like to "play it by ear"

With a volt meter, you will know what you drop to. From there we can make the decision of whether or not you even need a secondary battery
