Kenwood Excelon Protect Mode Randomly

Recommended Posts

Today, for some odd reason while jamming out to Metallica, my Kenwood Excelon KDC-X397 decided to go into PROTECT MODE. It wouldn't go away even after turning the car off. I had to take the faceplate off and hit the reset button for it to work again. Not even 10 minutes later it did it again. This is probably just sheer irony, but it happened both times while I was listening to Metallica. Anybody know why it would go into PROTECT MODE after playing fine for a few minutes? Thanks in advance!

What do you mean "in back"? I'm sorry but I don't see why mine would randomly start grounding somewhere. It probably is, but I don't see how lol. Would you recommend attempting it myself or having the local place take a look? I don't want to have to run a new wire all the way from HU to door speakers.
