I finally convinced my mother to leave her iphone behind and make the leap to android, so we went out and got her a gs5 today, and she absolutely loves it. Only problem right now is that I cant get her set up with a gmail account. If I try to use her existing gmail the phone comes back and says that it cant connect to google servers, and if I try to set up a new account when you get to the screen that has you pick your email, apparently everything is taken. Even a bunch of gibberish. Just wondering if anybody else got the phone today, and if you are having the same issue. I can connect to the play store and check my google mail just fine from my galaxy mega. crispy_chick3n Posted April 12, 2014 Author Report Share Posted April 12, 2014 I want one bad, still have till july before I can upgrade the s3 though. its a cool phone. supposed to be water resistant for like 30 minutes in up to 3 feet of water. when you turn the phone on it tells you to make sure the back is snapped on properly or it wont be water tight. one other thing i noticed is that the fingerprint reader doesnt work as well as the ones on the iphone 5s, oh well, the phone wasnt bought for a fingerprint reader or waterproof ability, it was bought as an easy to use device that my mom could operate. we were at the at&t store for almost 5 hours today just playing around with the phones. i actually had to make my mom pick up the galaxy s5, and she was able to work it better than any other phone in the building aside from an iphone. it is a nice, quick, and responsive phone, only drawback is that samsung put all that nice hardware inside an all plastic phone. Rell Posted April 16, 2014 Report Share Posted April 16, 2014 Just cracked my iphones screen, still works just fine but while browsing the internet or talking more then 15min the phone gets really hot (iphone 4) I like the simplicity of the iphone and its navigation but might be picking up an S5 solely based on the ability to use 128gb sd card. I dont even wanna know what a new iphone 6 in 128gb would cost and Im tired of waiting on it. Ive only owned 1 andorid phone before my iphone and it was a bad experience, hopefully this time it will be better. long overdue for an upgrade.
