Amart88
Looking for some advice on a new alarm for the truck. I was looking at the Viper models. But not sure what to get. My blazer is base model so no power locks or shit like that. I don't want proximity sensor or reserve siren battery as I had them before and they are too problematic. Say, I have it parked in a busy lot, while I am out for the day. The 1 mile remote is not much good for that if the alarm goes off. Also, do they keep going off until you stop it? or is there a timer? Would hate to have wind or some other vibrations set it off and it run all day on my battery bank that would be a while. and a big disturbance downtown. Any input? My 2005 s10 blazer build. 4 zcon 18's walled.

mbdblue
I believe all the vipers have the same function....beeps and lights for a warn away (wind/vibration would cause this), 30-60 seconds if the disturbance stops, and iirc, infinite for a major hit (something that really rocks the shock sensor, like a parking lot smack or glass break) Sounds like you don't need anything fancy since you don't have power locks (unless you plan on getting them.) But it all depends on how sensitive you make the sensor. Mine used to respond to real heavy wind....I didn't mind too much cuz it barely ever happened. You can most likely change anything you want in the programming...depending on the model you get. Ryan Christensen
Most go off 2 times at 60 seconds a crack. Sometimes 3. Recommend a 2 way or even a cell phone linked one that will page you when the alarm goes off.
