All I want to be able to do with it is install sensors in front and behind my wall so that I will be notified if someone is trying to steal my gear. Obviously I'm looking for a 2 way alarm. I don't need remote start functions, or door locks. I would actually prefer to be able to continue using my factory fob for its remote start and lock/unlock functions since the fob is also my key so I will have to have it with my regardless. Is it possible to wire the alarm to be armed by me locking the doors with the factory fob and not the lock button on the 2 way remote the alarm comes with?

Little thread jack here...

Anyone have the Viper 5806V? I'm looking at getting it. Remote start, 2 way, and I'll have to have an actuator for the door (manual locks). I'm getting quoted $614.52 out the door after tax by the local shop. Does this sound fair?

Anyone, feel free to enlighten me!

Sounds perfectly fair to me provided you have a chipped key/need a transponder bypass module (so any reasonably current vehicle except Kia and Hyundai). The module itself is usually $100 retail and ~$60 off Amazon. It's not uncommon for a shop to charge an extra ~$30 to install it. Then you've got the actuator and labor to put that in. I'd charge you ~$80-$100 per door depending on the vehicle (part and labor). So $614 after tax sounds right on the money.
