agf144 Posted June 22, 2014 Report Share Posted June 22, 2014 well i was reallly unsatisified with my last towers im embarrasswd i built so after i got out of school for the summer i baught a sheet of mdf. ordered some goldwood mids from parts express and found some tweets. i decided on somethinv simple: 2.85 cubes,flared 4" pvc ports tuned to 29hz, pvc with end caps to separate the mids from the subs, already had soundubned hds300 12s down there. flush mountged everything round over all edges. used 3/4" ply as a 2nd baffle. all glued joints no screws used at all. sanded the hell out of it and this is the end result, stil needs paint. give me some feed back! a little soldering and heatshrink with only a lighter avialable haha Chick took 3 shots of Jager, and then, pissed in my mouth.. oh.. wait.. naw.. that wasnt weird.. I grabbed some cheap crossover/ terminals from parts express and the mids are crossed over at ~200hz to 5khz I think at a -6db rolloff and the tweets at 5khz and up. It sounds pretty good I need some more midbass probably pick up a pair of 8s or 6.5s then make a custom entertainment center to flatten out the gap from 50hz - 150.
