2012 F250 4 DSS Ethos 18's Flat wall, Ampere Audio, etc

Recommended Posts

Well figure its time to start a new build log for the new truck. Sold the 07 F250 that had the 3 SP4 18's that did 58's on two 5500's, loved that setup but I wanted to try different equipment with this one. Big thanks to Quentin at DSS! This dude has some of the best customer service I have ever seen and he knows his shit! Plus his line of subs are no joke and are already making a name for themselves. Also gonne be running Ampere Audio and Andrew seems to have his shit together too and seems like a really good guy, really looking forward to getting this going. I hope to have the wall playing within about 2 weeks so we''ll see how that plays out.

here is my old truck and setup (07 F250 Harley Davidson)

The equipment going in (this may change as all builds do)

Pioneer 80 PRS running Active

Crescendo 1100.4 for mids and highs (may change to a Ampere 125x4)

Sundown 6.5 comps in there now but thats coming out.

Not totally decided on front stage. I may run all Rockford Pro Audio gear and do my own door panels

4 18in DSS Ethos

Flat wall 21cu net, tuned at 31hz

Ampere Audio 7500 on subs, I will add a second one over the winter

The truck is optioned with a 225 HO alt but will be upgrading back to a Mechman 370 like I had in the 07

There will be 8 Group 31's in the rear toolbox

4 runs of 2/0 front to back and 8 runs going to the amp

This setup will be fused as I compete mainly in Meca. Not sure what class I will fall in, guess I'll see.

Here is a pic of one of the subs, will load more later.

Here is the enclosure. Gonna run the same one I had the 3 SP4's in. Since the Ethos require less space I will just redo the front baffle and roll with it. Should be perfect. I was going to build a new one with a drivers side port but love how the top port demos and should be enough port area and I already know it gets loud in these trucks.

I will post more pics as progress happens. I could put all this in my Dodge caravan that we dont really use but would rather put in the truck since its more pleasing to the eyes. lol

How do you like the 6.7 compared to the 6.0? any plan for mods? I hear the 6.7s are by far the most reliable besides the 2011s and their valve train issues. My 6.4 is nice but always crossing my fingers I don't get a 5,000 dollar repair bill. Love that color gray! And I love my powerstrokes! Definitely will be getting a 6.7 when I can better afford it.. Can't wait for progress I loved your other build
