Yeeb
A bolt in my back hatch. So wire upgrade big three no cap and bass knob gone go to audio shop have them tune amp and clean ground? I'll do all that. But how could it hit great for 4 days then not hit good?
soundstream15
Bad ground, amp loosing power from poor wiring/install. Loose connections possibly. Make sure your shop has a dd-1 or oscope
Yeeb
Thank you sir. Do you think my basics are okay? Hifonics brutus brx1600.1d and orion hcca 10.2 with all new kenwood components.
soundstream15
Yes, decent set up man. Is it a prefab box tho?? Just get better wiring and make sure it's a solid install, all clean grounds and no loose connections
truthsayer
How do you do the big 3 how hard is it? not that hard. took me an hour because i was drunk and i soldered everything and shrink wrap. get 0 gauge from your: +alternator to + battery -frame/chassis to - battery -engine block to - battery remember to ground your amps to your frame/chassis rather than the body. the body is paper thin and not that great of a ground. I agree with most of this except. It should be engine block to chassis. truthsayer
Yeeb
It's a box for a 12 approx 2 cu ft and I put the plate they shipped it in over the hole and sealed it. No air coming out besides the port. What is the difference between yellowtop an red top?
Yeeb
Should I use welding lead for my big three. It's super heavy duty stuff and oxogen free copper. How do I ground from engine block to chassis? Not really much info on where to ground it to the engine block.
Yeeb
One more question is it couldn't be voice coil because it is fine at 4 ohms right? I reallllly don't need it to be voice coil damage because it's not covered under warranty.
soundstream15
Find a bolt on the engine block and ground it there or you can use the alternator mounting bolts. It's not your voice coil and you should or have someone build you a nice box
