Motorboat KER
I am playing around with the idea of adding a media server to my car... Sort of like Steve Meade with his Apple set up. EXCEPT.... I am a baller on a budget. Tools needed: Raspberry Pi http://www.amazon.com/CanaKit-Raspberry-Complete-Original-Preloaded/dp/B008XVAVAW/ref=sr_1_6?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1406042941&sr=1-6&keywords=raspberry+pi Nice 7" Monitor http://www.amazon.com/RearView-Headrest-Monitor-Support-Rotating/dp/B007SLDF7O/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1406043003&sr=1-1&keywords=car+screen DC to AC conversion: http://www.amazon.com/BESTEK-inverter-adapter-charger-notebook/dp/B003Q54V88/ref=sr_1_10?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1406045449&sr=1-10&keywords=ac+to+dc+car I already have a wireless keyboard + mouse setup that I will be using to change songs. OS will be Rasbian. I am very familiar with linux distro so it will be easy to make a nice looking player + sound EQ on the screen. Sound will enter my car system via AUX cord (open to suggestions). Anyone see why this wouldn't work? Edit: My keyboard is a mini model like: http://www.antonline.com/p_USR5502-PG_931208.htm?sID=PG And a cheap ass mouse: http://www.meritline.com/logitech-wireless-mouse-m185-910-002225---p-127172.aspx?source=fghdac&gclid=CjwKEAjwl7ieBRCK2rCtqcCS7jESJACZKQFKVscPHxUtztIazbP8erggcg_XGze0-oRp53xRUltuExoC51rw_wcB
Krakin
Other than you messing up something in the coding I don't see anything wrong. An SSD or some other FLASH device would probably be the best storage device as idk how well a HDD will do when on the road and you hit a pot-hole or here possibly a hog or deer. Krakin's Home Dipole Project http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/186153-krakins-dipole-project-new-reciever-in-rockford-science/#entry2772370 Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist? I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . . What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself but what has drawn your attention in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears, thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener. I was planning on using a SD card for it. I have been programming before I grew hair on my balls lol. I dont think anything will get messed up

Motorboat KER
Small update, changed from using a premade Pi OS to running a custom xubuntu build. Media library using Rhythmbox (BEAUTIFUL) along with ffmpeg to change YouTube (.flv) to .mp3. I just have to get a WiFi Dongle along with the Pi server so I can use my phone hotspot.
