Not sure if this is where the post goes.

I have an 09 Dodge Caliber. Recently, the ABS light came on. Sometimes it stays on and sometimes it doesn't. For example, I might kill it to pump gas and it won't be illuminated when I turn it back on. It's weird. Didn't think it was a problem until I started noticing my MPG and RPMs. When the light it on, my RPMs are 400-500 more than what they are when the light is off.

70mph on interstate w/ cruise engaged and light off I get around 2400RPM

w/ the light on I get an unsteady 2700RPM

Even in town with the light on, the RPMs are very sensitive. The RPMs fly, but the car is slow to get-up and go.

Though this might be subtle, it's noticable to me.

What would the ABS light have to do with my engine?

Sounds like your abs is engaging or not releasing for some reason. Your rpms are higher , because your vehicle has to give more power to move if brakes are engaged.

Have you checked your brake pads? Check your brake cylinders also, one might be sticking. You could have a bad brake line (collapsed) not allowing brakes to release instantly as they should.

You need to get the ABS scanned for a code.

Thats cool. Im way too old to be upset by shit like that. Your name is winston. Your own parents hated you even before you were born.

My penis is bigger than your penis

I'm far from loud and my roof/headliner flaps around like Adam's ass on a windy day. I think it depends more on the structure of the vehicle.

Could a warped rotor be a factor also?
