hoit Posted August 8, 2014 Report Share Posted August 8, 2014 Hey everyone. I'm in the process of getting a sundown audio saz3500 to push my 2 X10 in a kerfed ported box tuned to 33 Hz. Have two xs power d3400, high output alternator, big three (1/0). Even though there's really no such thing, is this too much power for these subs. They would be in a one ohm load. I've seen some people only running a 2500 on a single z18! Just like to get some feedback. .. Thanks in advance! Also, is two runs of 1/0 necessary for this setup? CleanSierra Posted August 8, 2014 Report Share Posted August 8, 2014 With quality 1/0 or 2/0, you'll only likely need one run if it's OFC. You didn't mention how big of an alt you're going with , but if you can only supply 200-250A of current, a single run of quality OFC should be sufficient. hoit Posted August 9, 2014 Author Report Share Posted August 9, 2014 its a custom made alternator from Mike over at Singer. 210 Max/180 amp, 130 at idle...a far difference from my 80 amp max OEM alt. ive been using Knukonkepts 1/0 OFC and ive been happy so far... two runs of 1/0 pos and neg from front batt to back? then 2 runs of 1/0 pos and neg to amp? But if i don't Need them, I know the 3500 only comes with one positive and one negative. I'll get everything together with a dd1. ..I guess just product handling and voltage drop ate my concerns.
