SQ/SQL System Recomendations-Dodge Magnum

Alright I was been asking around and settled so far on a Clarion CZ702 and I have a cadence XAH 125.4 4 channel amp which puts out about 80w to 4 @ 4ohms (non verified, those are just manufacurer specs) but I am trying to decide what I am doing with the rest of my build.

So electrial is handled...(its a cop car)

168 or 180 amp alternator

tractor trailer battery in the back. (probably add a isolator and additional kinetik battery for reserve)

RAAMMAT will be put throughout the car since all I have is a thin vinyl floor mat but thats makes the build easier I think. Will be running butyl with a thin viso foam layer and then a undercarpet layer, then actual carpet. Trying to kill noise and heat.

Question is what components to run. DIY(raw drivers, active crossover, partsexpress/madisound/CSS) or Component set with passive crossovers

Budget for the front stage: $400, $200 for the rear stage

Favorites: ZAPCO!, ID, HiVi, Morel in that order...the only brand I have experience with in this case is Zapco and Zaph(i.e. Dayton)

Location sizes:

Front Stage: 8" location in the door and a 3" location in the dash. (currently there is a 6x9 in the door or a 6 3/4/tweet setup not sure which)

Rear:(2) 6x9s

I want to run a 2 or 3 way setup, active (need recomendations on the right active 3way crossover setup) and get the best SQL really that I can.

I have built a couple sets of home speakers and am familiar with partsexpres and Madisound as well as Creative Sound Solutions up in Canada so I was thinking of going full DIY for the build and get a OMNIMIC system from Dayton to tune it for the response in the vehicle. But I am not sold on it yet....

I want a 6.5 or 8" component set up front and a 6-8" midbass in the back. I have had issues in the past with system with really good sound quality but not enough midbass fill or punch. So I want to rectify this with this build.

Currently looking at:

OR

A full DIY system with a 8" woofer, 3-4" midrange and a metallic dome tweeter. Active crossover. Just don't know how ridiculous its going to be to tune and I have no idea still which crossover would be worthwhile.

Looking at the audiocontrol crossovers but still not sure what would be best.

(p.s. I know these questions have been asked a million times and I am researching at the moment but I didn't see a lot of talk about these specific component sets and not a ton of info on going full DIY. I still actively searching the crossover question)

BUMP!

Anyone?

Also started looking at Hertz Audio since I have heard a lot of good things about them. Found a three way set that I can setup with the 6.5 in the door, 4" in the dash and tweeter either dash or a pillar but I don't know enough about them to justify the price yet.

Looking for some dealers in the area for some of this stuff...I am planning on installing it myself but wouldn't mind paying someone to rip apart the dash since I know thats going to be a pain.

Against my better judgement I am going with the Pioneer 80PRS because I can't ge thte features I want in the clarion deck according to two shops I talked to. And I decided on running a Stereo Integrity 15" in a sealed enclosure for my sub in the back. I was going to run DD 8"s but said screw it, go big or go home. I am going to make the box removeable to I don't lose cargo room, I can take it out when I please.

Just a fair warning that dash location will not accept drivers bigger than what is already in it. I tried to put a 4" mid in there and at first the windshield got in the way then once I got past that the hole was much too small

Good to know, yea I was looking at 3" mids but then decided that I could probably go 4" but looks like thats a no. Also I saw some setups that put a MTM setup in the dash...I thought about doing that but putting it up top of the dash just with a thinner driver. But I have a feeling even doing that its not going to fit.

seems like your on the right track... i might suggest rear fill isn't necessary but that's personal preference.....

you may want to look into HLCD's (horn loaded compression drivers) which will get stupid loud and maintain sq-

I have used a couple POS pyramid HLCDs which, really, all the DD stuff seems to be the same design. But I looked at them, I am probably just going to go with metal dome tweeters if I go DIY but not positive yet. I just think the HLCDs are going to be too harsh. What brand do you recomend or have you use? I may just get some to try out.

I am looking at partsexpress and madisound today and trying to see what would be cheaper in the long run. I feel like I need the omnimic system to tune a DIY system and thats 300$ and if I put in the....50+ hours of tuning that I will probably need to get it right because its me...then I am starting to think it won't be worth it.

Looking seriously at the Morel components.

welp. Not that its helps my component decision...but went with the Stereo Integrity HT 15" sub. Can't wait to start on the car.

I need to rebuild the back portion though. They divider sags a bit so I think I may do a aluminum or sheetmetal one or just a plywood cover wrapped in carpet to make it look more stock.

Pictures to come.

I own a chrysler 300 and I have often thought of simplify my front stage with an active two-way. If possible I may drop in the Hybrid 3" and Hybrid 8" mid bass in the doors of it.

Just make sure you deaden the snot out of those doors and panels. They tend to rattle like a mofo.

Look forward to seeing your progress and pictures.

I guess the question I have is how loud do you want to play and how good of SQ do you want? Do you want studio reference quality, loud enough to open up the doors and let the neighbors hear? That's the problem with "SQL" You have to define what "loud" to you is.

I have two sets of Alpine Type S comps, an Alpine 75x4 watt amplifier, controlled by a fosgate 360.3, a shitload of sound dampening in the vehicle, closed cell foam, all the goods and it is clean and loud.
