Recommended Posts

i just bought a desktop that doesnt have a network adaptor to get on wifi and now im all out of funds, i currently have a n wireless but have a spare g is it possible to set up the g as a network adaptor to conect my new desktop to the n

I picked up an MTX Sw1212 powered subwoofer today. This thing sounds amazing. 130 watts, 12" woofer with a passive 12" woofer tuned to 27 hz. Moving the pictures on the walls and my girl got wet from the bass when i showed her haha. Tonight should be good haha.

Some routers feature a "bridge" mode which allows the router to capture a wireless signal through its antenna and then pass that to any devices plugged into its ethernet ports. What is the make and model of your old G router? It may have the feature out of the box or might support third-party firmware that supports the feature.

wtf is lolcats?

I'd def get a fat hooker if i had to resort to that kinda thing. I feel like they'd be grateful and work harder. Also its more bang for my buck, more real estate for my dollar if you catch my drift. its like the Costco of streetwalkers.

I was hoping for 150 :(.

I was hoping she would let me put it in her butt

Bridge mode is a passive mode, if a router is in bridge mode, it no longer holds an IP address and can't hand out a dynamic IP address either. So... WIFI on a bridge router is not possible.

If you have a android cell phone that is wireless N capable, you can use it as a wireless N adapter by downloading the application PDANet or EasyTether and connect via USB from your phone. You use your phone to connect through the wifi and it passes the internet over through USB.

Bridge mode is exactly what he needs. It will turn the G router into a wireless network adapter for his desktop that connects over ethernet rather than USB. The router in bridge mode won't have to hand out dynamic IP addresses as bridge mode should disable DHCP. His main router will create the wireless network and handle all of the IP routing. The second router in bridge mode will simply connect to that wireless network and allow his desktop to plug into an ethernet port to communicate across the wireless network to his main router.
