Mighty Max door pods

So my friend recently bought a 1988 Mitsubishi Mighty Max as a little project truck, he bought some wheels and tires through my dads shop and decided he wanted a pretty decent system in it so I decided to hook a brother up. We were looking mainly for efficiency, clarity, and on a budget so we turned to Image Dynamics and Crescendo to satisfy our needs. I layed down the ground work and upgraded all the grounds and put a redtop in it to keep up voltage. Its got a crescendo symphony 550/2 powering both door pods and a symphony 600/1 will soon be powering the subs. For speakers we have crescendo tweets in the dash running of the sony head unit, each door pod has a pair of Image dynamics 6.5 coaxes (wired in series to 8 ohm load, amp runs cool and clean, it has a LOT of dynamic headroom) and soon it will be getting 4 8" ID subs in a ported box behind the seat. But anyways heres some build pics of the pods.

I hope so, itll be done for a show in tampa this weekemd but unfortunately we dont have enough space to go ported but on the upside supposedly the IDs will play down to 20hz in car in a sealed box, pretty impressive for 8s haha

  • 2 weeks later...

You may not get extreme output but those ID's should sound awesome sealed! And will likely still be fairly loud.

the highs and midbass sound amazing and are fairly loud, they can keep up with the 4 8" ID subs behind the seat on a crescendo symphony 600/1. My friend is definitely happy
