mcfalcon
HI everyone. Im new to the forum so all this may have been already adressed and for that I apologize. I live in southeast texas and around here kicker is the standard. I myself have 2 kicker cvr 12s in my car and 2 cvt 10s in my truck. I am fixing to buy another truck and included in my purchasing decision will be what music I can fit in there. I have been searching youtube and other sites and I think that I like DC Audio. Now I Know that Kicker is not all that but what my questions would be(never having heard DC,Sundown,PSI or anything good you know)what level would match or exceed kicker. For instance my 2 cvr 12s would level 2 12 outdo them or would i have to go to level 4 you get my drift. Its alot of money to throw out on a guess and I have never even seen or heard of DC around here. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Quote Still learning but have started gathering. I would imagine level 2's would be louder than the CVR's, but it would also depend a lot on amp and box.
Mr Bigolsworth
my two sundown audio sa-12 hit hard on a t1500.1dbcp. now about 6 years ago i had two cvr 10's on a kicker 750.1 in my civic and have to say it sounded good but nothing compared to my Sundown sa-12's. But also depends on box and amp. mcfalcon
thank yall for replies. I understand amps and boxes matter all that will be sorted out but before I spend money on kickers again which have become expensive I would like to try out other things because the 2 cvr 12 just dont do it for me anymore. I want to experience SPL for real but daily driver you know. I just dont have a comparison base because DC isnt around here or any of these great brands. yurvalentine
If you want SPL on a budget check out Soundqubed. They aren't a super high end brand but they make good products, and they have fantastic customer service.

mcfalcon
I havent checked out soudqubed yet. Budget is not what Im looking at. I dont plan to spend 15000 you know. I will not be going to competitions but I do want that WOW factor. But just for a base comparison(ideal watts, box, wire, etc)does level 2 compare with a cvr 12 or 3, or 4 so on? Because I want to be blown away by my new system but for 700 dollars i get one dc level 5. I could almost get 3 cvrs for that. Im new with this comp audio stuff and im just trying to figure out what im getting for these levels and these prices. Quote Still learning but have started gathering. fredz89
Welcome to the forum, id say check out Fi audio. Ive found some pretty reasonable prices for used ones and they are a great subwoofer. That was actually my first real system BTL18 in a civic. Good luck bud
Hifonics
Soudqubed subs will give you the wow factor, if installed in the proper box. In my experience, it's 20% equipment, 80% install. There's lots of brands to choose from and each one you can't really go wrong: DC Sundown Soundqubed PSI Ascendant Audio FI SSA Incriminator Audio American Bass ..... etc.... There's lots more. I think you're going about this the wrong way. You should be choosing your sub(s) based on what power you will be running and how much space you have. Hope this helps. 1 Quote 2010 F150 FX4-18" AA Mayhem-Crescendo BC3500d-Pioneer GM-D9500F 4-channel-2 Crescendo FT1 -2 Crescendo Neo Forte 6.5 -Pioneer AVH-P3300BT-6000K HID Headlights/Fog lights-All LED interior lighting-20% tint on front windows, 1% rear windows, 5% windshield strip-Big3 (XSFlex 0ga) -DC Power 270XP -Group 65 NorthStar AGM battery Coming soon/plans: -Build log-Blacked out mirror reflectors-Tinted tails/3rd brake light
