tbeats
Ok so the head unit is a pioneer avh-x4600bt the low pass filter cant be disabled. It is a 18db slope from 50hz ,63,80,100,120, the amp is a sundown saz-1200d with a 24db slope . What would be the best one to use ? I also have a CC1 so the amp is easy to set. audiofanaticz
id do the amp, just in case you ever lose memory to the deck from disconnecting the battery and forget to reset that crossover, this way the amp will always be set where you want it. Stephen13
See page 36 of the owner’s manual under “Using subwoofer output”. It says there that the subwoofer output CAN be turned ON or OFF. 2011 Chevy Silverado LT 5.3L 4x4 Ext.-cab "Enjoy yourself. It's later than you think." Stephen13
I don't get it. Where I come from the LPF (Low Pass Filter) IS the subwoofer output. 2011 Chevy Silverado LT 5.3L 4x4 Ext.-cab "Enjoy yourself. It's later than you think." gckless
I don't get it. Where I come from the LPF (Low Pass Filter) IS the subwoofer output. Turning a filter on or off is different than turning the output, that can be affected by the filter, on or off. Kinda like the difference in turning the hose spigot on or off (sub output) and then using a nozzle/hand sprayer (LPF). OP, you probably want the steeper filter here, depending on where you have your mids crossed. If so, just set HU to 120Hz and then set the amp. "Clipping" is the biggest forum boner now. It's like witchcraft... it automatically explains just about everything people don't understand. couchlockd
use the LPF on the deck to further clean up the signal. i like my pioneer set at 63hz with the amp at a setting of around 60-65hz. and if running a highs amp use the HPF settings like a subsonic filter for the highs and mids. the bass boost modes on the pioneers boost bass levals across all front rear and sub outputs. its like a DB boost switch that goes from 6-9-12-18 db like on a amp kinda. i like to set my amps with decks flat, SLA flat at 0 eq at flat. all prossecing other than HPF/LPF filters off.
