I have a razer blackwidow ultimate 2013, its okay, still uses Cherry keys.

the new blackwidow 2014s use Khail Switches, which are generic rip offs of Cherry keys. Razer claims they are redesigned and better, but at the end of the day they are a chinese made gimmick of the Cherry switch, and razer is still charging the same price. A lot of gamers are not very happy with it. So any new mechanical keyboard from razer Id personally pass on.

There are a couple other manufactures making mechanical keyboards with the same Khail switches like the Thermaltake POSEIDON, and reviews on it are hit and miss mostly do to the switches as well. However this keyboard costs half as much as the razer blackwidow ultimate 2014, that is damn near the same thing.

I dont think that logitech keyboard will be out anytime soon, so you maybe waiting a while on that one as well.

Corsair will be my next mechanical, personally I cant go back to a non mechanical keyboard after using one for so long now.

If you need the extra macro keys then the k95 would do good, otherwise you could save a few bucks with the k70.

Ive been eyeballlying the k70 MX RGB or the k95 MX RGB for a bit now which is the same thing, only it has RGB back lighting that can do some crazy nice effects.

Corsair is still using Cherry switches which imo is key to mechanical keyboards

k70 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823816022&cm_re=mx_rgb-_-23-816-022-_-Product

k95 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823816027&cm_re=mx_rgb-_-23-816-027-_-Product

These things are just amazing to look at, and you can create your own lighting effects in the software.

Edit: Biggest thing I hate about my blackwidow 2013 is no media keys.

You got to use function and a F key to turn volume up or down, change tracks etc.

I didnt think it would bug me upon purchusing it, but its the biggest grip I have. Its like Im suffering with a laptop keyboard and how you use shortcuts on a laptop, but its a full size keyboard.
Same thing with the 2014 since its the same dang keyboard but just cheaper generic keys and costs more or maybe it is the same price now for a lessor keyboard.

It also took me a long time to get use to not having a wrist rest as well, some people hate them, some people love them. but if your one that is in favor for them, and not having one, it may drive you nuts.

Thanks for the input I was weary about there own switches already and no dedicated media keys was also a concern. But i figured id list it just in case. So the k95 is the choice it seems just need to decide which one I played on a cherrys red and blues havnt tried the brown yet I kinda like the feedback of the blues but im curious to try the browns but no one I know has one..

You watch Linus too? or just brought up the video? The dude is brilliant, but anyways back on topic, I would personally go for the new corsair keyboards. The RGB backlit is amazing, they use cherry switches, the quality is second to none with most of corsair products, over all the keyboard looks to hold its own on the market. I would defiantly go with it. and already if your going to spend the 169 dollars on the keyboard i would just go with the k95 at that price because of the programmable keys.

Eh... youtube channels that keep people up on tech works... I keep up on forums like techpowerup, anandtech, guru3d, jonnyguru, pcper, techreport, hardocp, bit-tech, and brightsideofnews... which is where those youtubers are getting a lot of their info from.

I was torn between the K70 and Ducky Shine 3. I went with the Shine 3 with red switches.

I don't want to go back to non-mechanical and non-NKRO lol.

A few games that I have are completely unplayable on cheap keyboards, especially when doing a drive-by in GTA3.
