SPL.Pantie.Soak
I have a small MK4 GTI hatchback and I have a few questions 1. What would you guys consider to be a good amount to purchase? What mil thickness? I plan to do the whole car. 2. Would fatmat work fine? I cant mentally justify spending ludacris amounts of money on the name-brand. 3. Does it increase SPL? 4. And my final question- should I also use foam and other materials? and if so, where would you recommend? Thank you guys, I'm sorry for all the questions but you are all geniuses so Kenwood KVT-614 (4) Marathon 155 AH batts 2/0 OFC SHCA Mechman 370 (2) Audioque 3500.1 (2) AA Mayhem 15s
Davecubs14
I'll try to answer some of those questions, fatmat will work fine, I've had many friends put it on, no real complaints. They're still in business for a reason. Spl wise, my goodness, if you even are thinking about being a hardcore competitor, you need to meter as you put it on. I did my hatch, roof, sides, lost almost 2 dbs, was so mad. And the foam, I've heard if you get a water leak underneath the foam, it can definitely cause some rust issues. audiofanaticz
Nice logic... Pyle, Pyramid, Boss, Legacy are still in business as well, but does that make them a fine company?

RainStryke
I gained a lot of sound quality in my vehicle with sound deadener. If you do go with one, make sure it's butyl based, the cement based doesn't hold up to the elements as well.
