Anand Sayroo
Hi everyone, I have two american bass hd12d1s . I have a ia 20.1 but I'm thinking to get another 20.1 but I would like to know if i can strap the two amps together with those subs. I'm being told the amps will be stable at 2 ohms but my subs cannot be wired at 2 ohms. Any suggestions? or is there something that I'm missing. I'm looking at the manual and seeing a wattage linked at 1 ohm.
SIDE SHOW
Usually most mono-block amps that are strappable are stable to one ohm by them selves then once strapped they recommend no less than a 2 ohm load.... you may be better just running one amp per sub at 1 ohm
RainStryke
Yeah, the manufacture says it's only 2 OHM stable when they are strapped and they run 4800w RMS @ 2OHM. If 2400w @ 1 OHM isn't enough, then you need to look into a more powerful amplifier... islandpride684
The specs says its stable at 1ohm, strapping two of them will give you a final load at 2ohms at about 4800, not sure if they do rated... From the way I understand it, the final load is 1OHM per sub if he wires them according to the IA20 pdf manual. http://www.incriminatoraudio.com/download/IASeriesManual.pdf

Using the master mirror option..my bad it was late my thought process was off, if you want to run it at 1ohm per amp using the mirror option, you need D2 subs, but since he has D1s he needs to wire them at 2ohms per sub to each amp, but using the master/slave option he can do it but it'll have to be at 4ohms...so both subs with a final of 4 ohms then the to the amps Build Log http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/186921-blk9te-07-yukon-slo-mo-build/page-3?hl=%2Bblk9te#entry2881410
