Hello all,

This is my very first post in this forum, so please bear with me if i m asking something stupid.

I have a 09 Mazda3. Last year i installed a 500W RMS 4channel amp for door speakers. Now I am adding a rockford fosgate P3 12in sub powered by 750W RMS mono amp.

Will the stock wiring (big 3), stock alternator can handle this load?

The amps are grounded by 4 gauge wire. The battery is grounded by a tiny 8 gauge. Does it cause any issue?

I am thinking about carrying out the big 3. Can I start out by just grounding the battery with 4 gauge wire?

Thanks

i have a kicker 750.1 and a mtx 400/4 in my corolla and my lights dim. If you can afford it I would suggest to go ahead and do it.

Edit: Just puts less stress on alt.

Still learning but have started gathering.

Well I am not an expert but I can tell you that the risk is burning up your alternator which means no vehicle. That is the risk but 750 watts is not a terribly high number. You may get the answer you are looking for here but if you scroll further down the forum page we do have an electrical section where Im sure you can recieve some definitive advice. Welcome to SMD.
