Things could be getting better.

Recommended Posts

I know in the past I've mentioned how shitty things are getting for me this past year. And well they have been. Recently how ever I have began to see things differently. Mainly cause I landed a job finally. Only took a year to do (which to me feels like forever). I landed a job as an event specialist with ASM (Advantage Sales and Marketing). Basically I'm the one handing out free samples and trying to push sales of the products offered. My first day isn't till Saturday, who knows how that will go. Right now they really don't have anyone to train me at this store right now. Hopefully they find someone who can show me the ropes by then lol. Once things pick up I'll be working around 30 hours a week at $10 an hour. Goes without saying I'm going to do my best, hell I do that with any job I have. If everything goes the way I hope it does I'll be working towards a couple things. One being my license (again). Already have a vehicle, plus maybe another one as well. My mom's bf said he would by his cousin's 65 Mustang for me. It needs some work, like a new engine. That really doesn't scare me, I'm fine with that. I would have to wait til August if that happened, but might try to buy it myself. Hell only $1200 for it. Who knows what will happen with that. My main goal though is to get back home to St Louis. Despite the news only showing the bad side, it's still home and only place I feel happy. Well Cali made me feel that way too, but probably for a whole nother reason. School is still going great, going to graduate in under a year. Really right now I just need this job to go well so I can get my shit back in order. Let's hope things continue to get better.

Why would you buy a project car when you don't even have one to get you to the auto parts store and back?

Without a job for a year? How can you survive like that? I was without a job for 3 weeks once... I finally went to a contract agency and got a manual labor job. I hated that job so much, it motivated me to try harder and I got something better within a week.

I'm sorry but how can you live without a job? I've been working since the age of 14 never without a job for more than 3 days. Pound the payment day after day and get a job. Not trying to be a dick but things could of gotten better for you months ago.

Moving back in with the parents was a big help in that (really didn't want to though lol). This has been the longest I've been with out work. Where I live there is very few job opportunities unless you can do some labor intensive work and with my heart problem I can't. It would literally kill me. I've applied at every place I could find in this town. It wasn't til I looked on line at careerbuilder.com that I found this job. I do regret not doing it sooner.

It's not 100% I'm going to get it. But if I did getting the parts store wouldn't be a problem, I can always get a ride. I do have a truck however, or at least they say it's mine lol. Not having a job the past year was tough. Had to give up my apartment in Ky and move in with my mom in MO. I couldn't do a manual labor job, not cause I'm lazy or anything. I just have a bad heart and things like that can seriously injure me or even kill me. This job is something I can handle and wont cause to much strain on my heart.
