sinful7
anyone know or wanna take a guess at what the res freq of a 97 viper gts coupe would be all oem interior? going to try and attempt next week to figure it out with a meter a friend has. I am guessing 46hz, and I have no knowledge to back that up just a random guess.. anyone wanna take a guess, or simply know? also on res freq lets say 46hz is whats loudest... for a high spl score I tune my box to 46hz also and I play a 46hz tone? is that correct? cause I think I read somewhere that if the res freq of a car is say 46hz and I tune the port to that same frq I should play a tone around 3hz higher than what the port is tuned to.. is this correct SPL Guru's? Or am I completely wrong haha?? still post what you think it will be
sinful7
also based on how the hatch is on these cars I assume port up, sub up would be best for near anything.. would it matter if the port is located on the pass or drivers side more?? just notice some SPL cars/trucks usually have ports on one side only... didn't know if there was a reason for that, or just cause of space? Broke_Audio_Addict
Going to go out on a limb here and say you probably aren't going to find anyone here with a viper. Also you cant guess a resonant frequency. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals. OrionStang
Sweet car. Its not hard to find resonant frequency. The following method will get you close enough. You need a 10" sub in a 1cu ft sealed box. Id position it facing up where the box is in your pics. Find a termlab and run a 20-60 sine sweep. DOesn't have to be full volume. The meter will show your peak frequency. As far as tuning to that frequency, I don't know. SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread
