Thanks guys!!

I want to try this since its alittle different. A 4th order would also been a option.. but with a regular wall with the subs facing forward I guess 4x 15"s or 2x 18"s will look best in this car. Maybe 16x 8"s? :rofl2:

But as you mention, the subs facing each other, in the port.. it will maybe be a problem?

Otherwise I got my Hertz HDP4 amp today, a small little beast!

I would see it cancelling the way you mentioned. If the left half were out of phase from the right half as one side pulled in the other would push out.

Been done with success, but you're right there are potential issues. Have to be pretty spot on with tuning and distances for it to work perfectly (but that's the case in any box). Here's one discussion:

And yes, you'd run them all in phase. Could eliminate most pitfalls by angling the baffles out in a clamshell, those are more forgiving. Of course you'll have the modify the port to get back to your tuning frequency.

Static drops are my bag.

Thanks again! Appreciate your help and suggestion about the build.

jk13: I've been thinking of angling the baffles. Most clamshell builds have good angle, but never seen a straight one like this... but there is maybe a reason for it.

Test fit one of the door pods, looks okay. I damaged the carpet on the other one while drilling a hole, so need to wrap it again.. :angry22:

Next up is the big three, speaker wiring to the doors and start with sound deadning.

I did a box similar to this in my mustang. Was extremely quiet but played all the lows. Was a fun box

IH8PunkRok: How big was your box, and tuning? And when you say quiet, what hz range do you mean?

I hope to make mine play the lows good.. not sure how these subs will work, but I'll find out :)

Got the other doorpanel in, also got some cheap fuseholders in the mail today.

I had 6 8s on 2k. I think the box was around 3.5 cubes don't really remember

I had it tuned to 34 but I neglected to include the tunnel effect so it was probably much lower.

Anyway I don't believe I metered it but I know I played a song that got down to 23 hz full tilt everyday

I know it wasn't louder than a 140 though
