No it's a 12"

Alpine suggests 1.0 - 1.5 cubic feet net internal volume for a sws 12d2. I wouldn't do anything higher than 1.75 unless your're running low power. They're rated at 500w rms so if you're running 500w I would stay at or near 1.5 net.

Well if I'm not mistaken the type rs are rated for like a 1.4cf box but people seem to love them in a 2.25 to 2.5cf box. I mocked it up in bass box and it doesn't appear to reach the xmaxx limit until slightly below tuning.

Type Rs are rated for 1.7 I think. most people put them in a 4cu ft box as they usually have a pair so 2.0 each which isn't fair from 1.7.

You're trying to go to 2.5 from 1.5, that's a huge leap.

The numbers for net you provide were used for the older 4th gen subs and below, but these 5th gen are made to work in smaller boxes. If you decide to go ahead with it set your subsonic filter to box tuning and I hope you like the sound.
