So, about a week ago my idler pulley broke. Bearings went, it locked up and snapped the bolt, belt came off. Replaced the pulley and the belt, seemed to run ok that day.

The next day, I started it up, and it was idling fine. Pressed the gas, and it started to stall every time I did, kinda like a cold 2-stroke does. I played with it a little, held the throttle maybe 1/8th open, and it totally stalled. Would not start up after that. Suspected my distro cap/rotor, because I heard a kinda clicking (electrical, not mechanical, kinda like sparking almost) from that area. So I was gonna pull that off, but there was an electrical contact with about 20 connections on it in front of the cap connected to the motor, so I took that off. I played around with the cap, couldn't get it off, it started pouring, so I put that connection back on. It started up after that, seemed to run ok after that. Fast forward to the next day, was on my way to lunch, came to a stop sign and it started chugging like I had a tuned 454 under the hood. Whole car was shaking. Pressed the gas a little, it stopped.

Since then, it's had problems starting. Will turn over just fine, just have to crank a lot, sometimes it will start to fire then die. When it is running, it just doesn't seem right, but I can't put my finger on it. At idle, it kinda seems like there's a cylinder not firing. Kinda the same timing as a misfire, but very subdued. Not sure if that's how the engine always ran and I'm just super paranoid or if that's actually what's happening. Seems like I've lost some power, but also might be me being paranoid (I do have a lot of weight in there after all).

I changed the spark plug wires, the distro cap and rotor. No change. Pretty sure I'm gonna go buy a scan tool tomorrow.

Any thoughts? I have no idea what's going on.

Also, just on a gee-wiz side note, I back-flushed my heater core about two weeks ago because I was getting no heat. Amazed at the crap that came out of it. I ran water through it for a while so I don't think there was any more stuff coming out of it. I don't think that's a cause of my issues, but who knows at this point.

Good heat now though! :)

Went out and bought an Actron CP9575. Figured it would help not only now but in the future too, so it's a decent investment. Gonna see what the Blazer tells me later. Luckily I have a bike to ride and the weather is clear.

So I get code P0135, bad O2 sensor heater. Had that for a little while. O2 sensor has been replaced, wiring looks ok, and I can't find a schematic for where the wire runs back to. No fuses blown. I do not think this is the cause of what's going on. Still really hard to start.

My first guess would be a fuel spider leak, take the throttle body of grab a flashlight and see if you can see clean paths inside the intake or if you have a borescope feed it through the tbody.

That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.

I had that issue last year actually. Replaced the spider injector. I know those symptoms well, it's not the same.

flushing the coolant system wouldn't have any effect also the 02 sensor wouldn't either. Possibly check fuel pressure to make sure engine is getting proper amount of fuel. or dist cap plugs wires throttle body and that stuff.. vacuum leak? MAF sensor.

Seems it all started after your idler pulley broke. Sooooo, thats why i thought throttle position sensor. Your idler controls how the throttle opens and closes so its gotta be somewhere in that area.

Just suggested it because it's one of the most common problems on these trucks.

One other easy thing Is the gear on the distributor likes to wear down its an easy fix usually suggested to do it when doing the lower intake gasket (another common problem) because you have to pull it but you could give it a shot now.
