So i got a wonderful Cadillac coupe Deville and the thing weighs a lot [6000 pounds]. When i bought it the guy took out the rear air shocks and put in coil springs. So right now, with the trunk empty and rear seats out it sags. I cant imagine the 200 pound box, 200 pound subs, 140 pounds of amps and wire and 500 pounds of batterys will do to those poor coils. Would it be worth buying some factory air bags/shocks and hook them up or just putting air bags all around? Im kind of leaning towards the aftermarket bags because im not sure the factory equipment could handle the load every day. How does the air bags affect the ride quality? Right now im floating down the road and i dont want that to change.

i forgot to add that i found some shocks that can handle up to 1100 pounds of extra weight.

awesome man, thanks. I was looking at a few of these but my friend has some helper bags on his truck and his ride went from bad to rough as shit. But that could just be the one time scenario. I want to try to keep that cadillac ride. floaty and numb haha.

Give the air shocks a try, you won't know if they will work unless you try it.

You should be able to get a good balance between sag and ride with those but I wouldn't run them at 150 psi especially at all times you'd probably wear them out real fast doing so.

That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.

have you tried them? i did on a 74 nova i had and the ride was the worst. it seemed like it had no bounce to it.. i was looking into them again a few days ago and seen nothing but bad reviews on ride quality. i tried both and like the bag better though i shock gives you more lift. the bags didnt help lift they only helped with the sag.. if that helps

No first hand experience but my brother used to run them on all his classics never heard any complaints from him. I think the problem is a lot of people use them to jack the rear up for that muscle car stance which at high psi I'm sure they would ride like shit. Not sure if those are exactly what he used to run but I'll ask him in the a.m..
