Livinloud87
I have ordered the SA12 due to my cadence finally biting the dust after many years of daily pounding. I have some crazy ported box that that seems to go against all designs I have seen on here but seemed to do well for the cadence 12 with jvc 600 watt amp but not sure if it would be a good fit for the Sa12. I would rather this one last a while as well. System will be sa12 with the 600d sundown amp ( what voice coil would be recommended for that ) I only plan to run one? The host car is a civic daily driver, listening preference is rap. I am not sure if I should go with box off of sundown or try to work on something that would better fit my needs. Any suggestions/ thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

philrab
Ok, anyone have comment on box option or should I just build what they suggest? Well, spit out the box specs and perhaps we can give a comment. All I know so far is "strange box". Net airspace, port area, tuning frequency. Livinloud87
I am not sure on the specs. I will try to measure it all out today. Then attempt to post a drawing of it on here if I figure out how to post pics.
philrab
Gotta know something about it to make a judgement. This'll help though: 1. Outside dimensions. Also need to know if any or all faces of the box are double layered. 2. Need to know the port dimensions, and also if any of the faces of the port share a common wall with the box (ie, is one of the port's four sides made by the outside box panel) That'll at least let us look at what your gross/net airspace is and figure out the port area and tuning. Without those four bits of info no intelligent conversation can be had about whether or not that box will do shit for an SA12. Livinloud87
27.5 wide 15.75 tall 20.5 deep Port is 6x13.75 inner dimension It uses left side of box as common wall Goes down the back of box, once it's 6 inches from right side it stops and another wall goes back to the left utilizing the port wall insie of box then it is 3 inches from existing port wall with a /\ shape. So from top view beginning of port looks something like |***********************| |. . |.^^^^^^^^^^^^ | |. . |.3in /\_______| | 6in. |..............sub....| /\ both measure 5 inches From inside front panel of box to port wall is 9inches There is not double walled just 3/4 for all. Hopefully this helps. Not sure how else to explain it considering it doesn't seem like a normal design.
