Dragonware
Hi Guys My lead wires on my subs have snapped burnt about 6 times on 1 SUB only decided to have PSI re build them. BESIDES THE POINT the coils are fine....what is cuasing this Clipping ? my gains are not set with a DD1 , so would my 128kbps mp3s from youtube be contributing to this clipping ? Can someone explain how this happens and what I can do to prevent. I have an audio control Epicenter for BASS and the bass knob from my amp installed. hispls
Junk tier subs. Tinsels are about the last thing that should be failing on a properly built sub using decent quality parts.

Lol, you are saying the Fi car audio SP4 are junk subwoofers? Yes, youtube ripped mp3's can be the source of clipping. But you say you have a epicenter for BASS, this is probably the problem. And a enclosure that doesn't match the subwoofer and applied power. Thinking is the root of all problems... You ALWAYS get what you pay for. Swordlordboy1234
Well... tons of possibilities. Cheap subs clipping off poor quality (youtube) boosted or messed with songs improper gain settings too much AC voltage causing too much heat for that particular quality of tinsel leads the list goes on man. My guess from the equipment and the description in this thread is it could be 3 of the 5 mentioned above. id start checking off that list and make sure your being safe. Dragonware
Re downloading all mp3s trying to source as much 320kbps as posible. Gains have been set with a DD1 Today. Bass and epicenter knobs have been known to magically find its way to 100% without me knowing they are not fixed they bounce around in my glove box Will fix this and keep them both belo w25%./ Both subs are being re built by PSI to handle up to 1000 RMS. they are currently 600rms each on a 2000rms amp. My box was profesionally designed by Mobileenclosures.com similar process to PWK so im confident the box is fine.
