mrazandrewm
Can a single SA-10 take a 1 ohm load from Sundown's SAE1000.1D amplifier? ToNasty
Would I do it ? Yes. Do I think you should do it? No Quote ***Super Sellers List***http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/25829-super-sellers-buyers
mrazandrewm
You don't know me to say that. I wanted to know if it'll take it (on music) and keep playing for a few years. That's all. I've heard both yes it can and no it can't. Just wanted to see what other people's take on it. Also, as I recall, I didn't ask you if you would run a single SA-10 on that amp. ToNasty
If you have to ask, the answer is no. I'd go with the 600 if I were you Quote ***Super Sellers List***http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/25829-super-sellers-buyers
mrazandrewm
I'm not asking if I should run it on or slightly over 1000w rms. I'm asking if the driver, mechanically and thermally, take the 1000w rms all day long. That's what I'm asking. Broke_Audio_Addict
You are going to do it anyways so just do it and let us know how it works out. I've seen them take more for what it's worth how long they lasted I have no clue but I've seen them take it. Edited January 2, 2015 by Broke_Audio_Addict Quote That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals. ToNasty
There is an rms rating for a reason. That's all I can say. The rest is up to you Quote ***Super Sellers List***http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/25829-super-sellers-buyers
noobslayer77
what is the benefit of running it 400 rms over rated? why not buy an x? Quote 2004 Jeep Liberty Limited 2 13w7s skar 3500 cnf mids (soon) xs batteries
gmoxley1
He obviously had his mind set on doing over rated power to that sub. I'd say just set yours gains with a dd-1 at 0db and call it a day. If things go wrong from there I'd say user error. (Disclaimer**** that is not necessarily saying that the sa-10 will get 1000 watts from that amp or handle 1000 watts rms) although they are very beefy subs and I love sundown.
