I recently purchased 2 sa12 d4 to replace my p3 rockfords. i am running a punch1000 amp at the moment. the enclosure i built is 2 ft per woofer ported with aero ports tuned to 34hz. Going in a 2006 yukon xl. starting to wonder if this amp is going to have enough power. It has stock alternator with 0/1 big 3 and 0/1 power and ground at the amp.

It should push them. You could push them harder, however. 1200-2000watts RMS would be the range you would really be wanting. Just know that you risk blowing them of you push more than the rated 600watts RMS / each especially if the signal is distorted/clipped. That being said I push 1000 watts to my single SA-12 in the same box (2cuft @ 34hz), but I don't hammer on it everyday. I usually play it at medium volume daily, but i'm not afraid to crank it up. So yes what you have will make them play, but you can definitely put more power to them clean. Also do you have a budget in mind for this amp?

Life's a trip. . . Don't fall.

If you can afford backing up your electrical, that would be an excellent amp for them. Long as your sending clean power to them. Plus, as long as your not just punishing them with constant sine waves, they should be fine on music. If your worried about blowing them, just look up some torture tests that the sa series have been through. It's an act of God to blow them. Recones are just $40 a piece if it does happen. Lot of assurance.

Yea the t1500 will slam them. Hopefully its the bdcp version. I'd recommend an ho alternator and at least a really good agm starting battery. Can you get by without that? Maybe but that's pushing it. If you want to get the full potential from the amp and your subs and don't want to risk frying your alternator I would suggest these upgrades. Also you want to make sure the power is clean and unclipped and you will have absolutely 0 issues. I'd set it with a dd1 if possible. I just purchased a an saz2500 myself and I'm also about to purchase a couple sa12s. They definitely need more than rated power to really shine the way they should but you have to make sure its clean power. IMO you should make sure the power is clean regardless of power...pushing more than rated just increases the chances of failure even more if you're clipping.
