So the temperature dropped to about -7 last night when I was getting off work and my car had been sitting for a good 8 hours in the parking lot. When I turned on my system I could barely hear the subs at all. I opened up the trunk and saw that the subs were insanely stiff, is this something that happens to other people in the winter too or could I have a leak in my trunk? I just bought these subs . I was thinking maybe it could be the electronics inside the amp?

the cold makes things hard. its normal.

play them quietly to loosen them up. or turn the heater up.

doesnt make everything hard.

It's not normal. I live in Canada where it gets way colder and I've never had that issue.

I usually just play mine low until it warms up, but the woofer doesn't get stiff or anything. It could be just stiff because the woofers are brand new. They will loosen up in time.

But if you're noticing that the output is lower, I don't know what could be causing that. Usually the cold helps out electronics and allows you to be a little louder due to having less resistance caused by heat...

I know in my friends old ranger when it got cold the subs output was alot less than once it finally warmed up by the end of the day. Why I got no clue, maybe the air being thicker.

Is it harder to walk through too?

It's normal for them to have less output when they're cold.

Just beat on them moderately till they warm up and your good to go.

i usually beat on it moderately till it warms up too!
