i don't think its a very common make of car in America .

what im asking is , is it just a case of making or buying a new alternator bracket that will fit the new alternator and welding it onto the exisiting a/c bracket and getting a custom belt ? or am i underthinking it ?

I would replace the whole bracket with a custom one.

If you can't build your own it will probably cost around $300.

The issue you may run into is getting enough belt wrap without using an idler pulley near it.

You will also have to make sure you get an alt with the charging stud in the right position.

well its a custom alternator casing that he says has been used to replace a/c compressors before.

singer also says the design of the casing makes it pretty straight forward to use a piece of angle iron to make a bracket .

I would rather pay a bracket made but I cant find anyone to make one in the uk.

Could you recommend anyone capable of making one for me ?
