Deeznutz
Yeah, but only way to make it roll is to fix it! I have to say one thing though, my old man was right, automotive repair CAN BE BIG MONEY. I see now why he wanted me to do it. Plus, Lisa gets turns on in some weird way when she sees me all dirty and greasy. Don't get it? lol. -Frank

Deeznutz
With the cover removed you could see antifreeze and oil mixture. (Cash register sound clicking in my ear) Keeping things organized. Cleaned all the sludge off the rods. The cylinder heads are off. This is passenger side. The middle cylinder is #4. The intake port is tan when it should be black. I was getting a code for "Misfire Cyl. 4". The computer was right. The spark plug is still white in comparison. This place comes recommended by my automotive friend of mine. Even if I rebuild the heads, I have no way to pressure test or check for breaks without special equipment. They called and said the cylinder(s) have cracks present. I gave the OK to repair my cylinders. I resurfaced the intake the old fashioned way. 180 grit, spray glue, perfectly flat wooden board. Passed the light test when completed. Simple Green Degreaser, pressure washer, scrub brush and elbow grease! -Frank

ROLEXrifleman
How long would you say the ordeal is? I have a feeling I will have to do this as well, at minimum the intake leaks. Rolex you sicken me. Just let me finish my pie ~ Juice
Deeznutz
How long would you say the ordeal is? I have a feeling I will have to do this as well, at minimum the intake leaks. So far I spent about 730-1500 removing all the bolts and wires/plugs just so I could remove the top plenum piece. I took a pic of EVERY bolt and nut with it's respective socket size so I can refer back to the pics and work my way backwards. Then I spent the next day 0900-1500 removing both cylinder heads which was a complete bitch because you could not remove the last valve cover bolt without removing the engine hoist harness/handle. After that, you had to fight the header bolts. Get up under the car for the back 3, than up top for the last 2 screws. The entire assembly nut and thread came out as one!!! The passenger side engine handle was held inplace by 2 13mm bolts, which could only be accessed with the right size 13mm socket. Took me about 45 min to remove that handle thing. This thing sits behind the valve cover end. You only have about 2 inches clearance before you hit the firewall! I could only pull the ratchet with my hand open-with my fingers- since the oil drip stick was in the way! I suggest you only do this if you have another car you can drive around til it's rebuilt. Today I picked up the Fel-Pro gasket kit. Advance Auto Coupon Code WD518 saved me $50.00 so $159 OTD, instead of $175+tax at National Cylinder! Tomorrow I pick up the cylinders. -Frank
Broke_Audio_Addict
I'm sure you know but just incase you dont absolutely do not reuse the intake or cylinder head bolts. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals. Deeznutz
Heads are back, nice and squeaky clean. Yes I have new head bolts. I have to clean off the thin paint from the mating surfaces (right cylinders already done). The guy said I could install it as is or wipe them off. I'm debating whether or not to rid the cylinders of this thin paint coating and spraying it aluminum gray, then hitting the valve covers and plenum with red and black paint as a contrast. Black plenum, red covers, or vise versa. -Frank
