2.0K into protect on cold starts

Recommended Posts

I am trying to figure out why my amp will go into protect mode on cold starts. After about 10min if I cycle power to the amp it will turn on and work fine. My voltage on cold starts is around 15.0volts and comes down to 14.5 warm. I know these amps are not 16v/18v stable like the bigger amps. There is nothing on dc's site about operating voltage. Just wanna see if anyone else has any experience with this

The 2.0k I used to have did the exact same thing, didn't like ~15.0V or above. Explanation I got from DC was that some amps have different tolerances and it's just the way it is.

"Clipping" is the biggest forum boner now. It's like witchcraft... it automatically explains just about everything people don't understand.

Yup. Just high voltage protect. Don't be worried about it, although that is annoying.
