HCCA like a smaller box. Had a HCCA 10 that jammed very hard. 1 big port instead of 2. 1500 weak for that sub. Give it 2500.

Here is a suggestion, power: to sub rated, amp subsonic filter to 28Hz, minimum port clearance 3 1/2", figure is just an assembly guide, bracing is 1 1/4" wooden dowel rods:

NOTE: If building outside you need to build a cardboard dummy box to test fit in it's way inside.

  • 1 month later...

so i made the box for my buddy, and turns out i was off by just a little on my measurements.. i should have made the box 1.5 inches narrower.. the rear corners are hitting on the back side trim.. since the body comes down at an angle, instead of straight down, it hits right there.. it didnt allow the back seats to lock in place..

soo, to fix my mistake, i cut just the material away that was hitting.. still gotta sand and repaint, but looks good i think..

only question i have is, would the tuning frequency be affected by this?? on the port side, i just cut away the material hitting and assumed since it'll be a tight fit to the interior, the interior will act like the rest of the port...

here are some pics of what he is putting in it and my fix.. oh and in the pics the box is on its side.. just want to make it clear it is a top mount box!! its on the side to work on it.. lol
