SQ tuning questions

So where to begin... I'll be honest and say I need help. I want to build a decent sounding system that has decent bump. I've never done a complete system on my own before. I always would let my local shop do it but I want to do my own this time. I know it will be challenging but I believe I know enough and with the help of the wonderful people on this forum I can achieve my goal! My current list of items goes as follows:

Car:

2010 Toyota Corolla LE

Speakers/HU:

HU = Kenwood Excelon DDX491HD

Front = DD CS 6.5's

Rear = DD CXS 6x9's

Sub = DD SL712

Power:

Fronts/Rears Amp = DD A5

Sub = DD M.45

I've purchased all KnuKoncepts power wire, speaker wire and RCA's to run everything with... I have Dynamat for my front doors, rear deck, trunk lid and trunk area.

I have also purchased a SMD DD1 and CC1 for assistance/future builds.

Now the install I should be able to handle no problem... I just have never tuned a system before. An I would like a setup that is very well rounded if that makes sense... I can't be too too much on the bass side bc my niece rides in car every weekend. So I figure I get a lil bump but have more audible music so that anyone who rides in my car enjoys it too.

So now that that's outta the way... ideas, commments, tuning suggestions are welcomed... an if you wanna call me an idiot that's ok too bc I'm still gonna do it lol!

Maybe look into a processor, (bit one, bit ten, rf 360.3) if your looking for a lot of tuning options.

Welcome to the forum by the way. Turn it up ;)

Thanks! An plan too once everything is done lol! I looked into a bit one and bit ten... I just can afford that right now. Would it be difficult to integrate one into my current setup at a later date?

you glossed over the install factor like it's a piece of cake.... a bad install can make tuning a system a absolute headache....

plan your install correctly... take alot of time to test before you build...

Oh yea I may have made it sound like it's going to be a piece of cake but I already knew that going in... I tend to have everything well planned and drawn out to see that it goes smoothly... Thanks for advice!

They are pricy as fuck....I dont blame you.

And no, it would be a simple addition.

Your set up should sound fine, and give you enough options just through the deck.

Its just when i see SQ, ... i think more elabrate, maybe than most.

Good luck, and let us know how it goes.... cheers. :good:

I was alluding more to the placement and alignment (like cablguy was asking)

I'm not super familiar with factory locations on a corolla... but the location and and angles used will play a big part in how the overall system will sound-

After checking out his head unit, a processor should be the last thing on his list. Chances are he wont need one at all unless he decides to go any sort of active in the future.

Edit (reason for suggestion): He's running rear drivers in stock location ... Can't tune/time align that with a processor.

Well that is good to know... knowledge paid off I guess lol! I use to run an Eclipse 8445 back in the day... Tried to get something good but not break the bank.
