Guest
I was doing some research on a good crossover to run a 3 way active setup with and I came across this. http://www.stetsom.com.br/produto/stx104/ I know it only has a 12db/octave slope but the crossover controls allows for the exact separation of frequencies for a perfect 3 way setup. Have any of you run this? Or heard anything good/bad about it? Thanks!

Dam that is a nice head unit. But considering I already dumped a couple hundred bucks on a HU, I thought it would be cheaper to look for something else for xovers. I dropped a little better than a grand on my head unit. I don't plan to change it any time soon. Seems like a nice crossover network though. Never seen one in action. So in a true 3-way active setup, should there be no frequency overlap b/w the drivers? Example: Midbass 100-250Hz, midrange 250hz-4kHz, tweeter 4kHz and up. Or it is good to have some overlap? My concern with only a 12db/octave slope that the frequencies might not be cut "sharply" enough if there is no overlap. Would that be an issue? White Lightning
I overlap everything in my system. That is one of the beauties of time alignment. White Lightning
We cut our drivers at the limitations of the specific driver. And start tuning from there. Guest
Thanks for the tip! When you crossover at these points, how noticeable of a difference can audibly be heard at a 12db/oct slope compared at an 18 or 24 one?

White Lightning
When you listen to a system for accuracy, placement, and dynamics ... Yes you can definitely tell minute differences in tuning. The more you dive off into the audiophile world and leave the "loud and hair trick" world ...
