Wade Copeland
Okay... I know most people hate capacitors..but i like them. Anyways I have two twelves and two tens. I have a 10 farad capacitor. One of my amps only has one set RCAs and the other has two. Can anyone help me on wiring this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Wade
conbon
Just run two power wires from the capacitors to the two amps. I dont think the RCAs really matter. 2013 Ford Focus Hatchback SE Kicker CS61234 Kicker 40CS674 Kicker KST25 Sundown Audio SA-12 D2 Rockford Fosgate t1000-1bdcp Rockford Fosgate t400-4 Audio Control LC7i Kinetik HC2000 0/1 Gauge Big 3 Upgrade Beer, babes, and bass. Whether it be using a distribution block, or using your capacitor or battery as a distribution block. rockFord_Expedition
There are other issues to be addressed but I will bite my tongue and just answer your question, although it's probably not REALLY going to help you very much. If your cap only has one post each for power and ground, depending on the design, just go from cap to distribution block, and from block to amps. Thank you. but yeah i know how you said you like caps and im sure youve heard this too but ditch the cap and just buy a small battery, its much more efficient. 2013 Ford Focus Hatchback SE Kicker CS61234 Kicker 40CS674 Kicker KST25 Sundown Audio SA-12 D2 Rockford Fosgate t1000-1bdcp Rockford Fosgate t400-4 Audio Control LC7i Kinetik HC2000 0/1 Gauge Big 3 Upgrade Beer, babes, and bass. You must know more info about his equipment than what is in this thread. How do you know that in his case it is best to ditch the cap? What is his electrical like and what cap and amps is he running since you're able to give this advice already? Batteries are more efficient? At what? Im all ears.... Your intentions are good, you're offering advice which very well could be right but you're using "rule of thumb" bs logic to answer a question that is application specific. Not trying to come off like a dick, at least you're trying to help, but in so many cases its the blind leading the blind and people just repeat advice they have heard others give in similar situations and think it applies to every application. My bad... i didnt provide enough information... The stock alternator literally just went out. So i replaced it (still stock i think 125 amp or something like that) And i have a brand new 12 volt battery. I get the whole getting a new battery thing although at the moment i just dont have the money. The amps im trying to use the cap on are entry level amps. One is a Planet Audio 1500.1 monoblock amp rated at 400 RMS 1500 max. The other is a Pyle 2000 watt amp. (not sure on rms) I am currently running two 12 inch KIcker CVR's and two 10 inch Kicker Comps. Thank you, Wade
