blow through on 2005 f250

new to the site so if this is in the wrong place I apologize. I've done some digging around but cant find exactly what im looking for and no build threads or advise for my truck in particular, so please don't respond with ''just google it''.

im doing a blow through on my 2005 crew cab f250. the enclosure will need to go in my tool box and ill be running 2 JL 13w3v3's at 1000 rms x 1 at 1 ohm sealed they call for 1.75 cubes and ported 2.5 cubes. I can not put any type of topper on my truck because I pull a goose neck on a regular occasion and it would just be to much of a hassle so the tool box is really my only option. there is nowhere in the cab to put anything worth a crap. I will have help from a friend who is a cabinet builder and is also an audio enthusiast who is hands down the best enclosure builder and designer that I've seen; better than most shops around here. He has the same subs in a blow through in his 2005 chevy 1500, he has a camper top due to his line of work though which is NOT an option for me. I know it will take up probably my entire tool box if not more and then ill need to build a larger box. im not worried about loosing my storage space in there because I can get a simple locking bolt down cargo box to keep my tool in. I would like to run to port into my flip down center console in the middle of my back seat. im not to familiar with this kind of enclosure and I would like some advice on different types of enclosures.. I've done a lot of searching on google and pretty much the only thing I've been able to find are 4th order boxes, are there any other viable options for this type of set up or is that pretty much it? I listen to all types of music, from county, rap, to death metal. im not to worried about the higher levels because im planning on doing a smaller center console box with probably a 10w7 or something.

this Is what they are going in. 2005 ccsb bulletproofed 250 4-linked in the front with 12'' of lift, soon to be 14'' 4-linked front and rear. and 22x14s and 40s and a lottttt of other stuff

Welcome to the forum.

There is an enclosure section on the site since you mentioned it.

If you are looking for ideas, just search blow throughs on this site and you will get lots of ideas im sure.

Nah the main page just shows the most recent trending stuff.

Since your buddy is an awesome wood worker and enclosure designer, and if you have his help, you probably dont need much from this site in that regards.

he has only done the 1 blow through but it is impressive to say the least so I was just thinking maybe there is some advice yall would have and make it a little better. im completely new to this set up. I wasn't going to do it, I was completely against it until I got a smoking deal on the subs last night so now its either do it or set them on my back seat and my back seat gets used and I like to keep ''room for activities" lol

Welcome to the forum.

I have an 06 I'm getting ready to do a blow through on. Its a little hard to tell, is it a short bed or a long bed?

I think you're limited on options so a blow throug is really your only option. You could either do a 4th order, which I doubt will fit in any truck box for 2 of those, or do a straight ported blow through. I was going to do one for mine, but it was for my OBS and the truck box I had was for a long bed and my 06 is a short bed. So I'm going with a shell, I know it's not an option for you. But, you could get a rail height truck box, that's big and square, and do a blow through with that.

Another direction to go, is you should be able to do a center console enclosure, not sure what kind of front seats you have (bench or captains chairs), but I was going to do a pair of 12's in mine in the center console. Just another option to go.

You could also get one of those bed covers that snap over the bed rails. That would help if you needed to go bigger and eliminate the truck box, but be easy enough to unsnap when you hook up your goosneck.

DO you already have the subs, or are you open to other options?

I'm interested to see what you do with this.

Then just cut the fucker and take lots of pics lol. Read through some build logs to get ideas, but nobody is going to kick you down a step by step.

If you want input, maybe post the sub specs and your useable dimensions and maybe someone will toss you a design.

Good point there. Some people just love to do designs.

The other thing is, you have to decide do you want to cut the wall completely or just the size of the port? That's going to be your decision maker right there. If you only want to do the port cut out, then you're only going to be able to do a 4th order bandpass.

I say you should copy your buddies if it's that nice. Why not. But I agree, don't half ass it, you're just begging for issues that way.

Do you have pics of your buddies blowthrough? I'd like to see it.

its a short bed.

im pretty sure we can get them in the tool box without "half assing it". if I need a few more inches then its not an issue for me to cut the back out of the tool box and add a few inches to it or make it deeper. I don't half ass things

not really looking for a step by step just different variations in box design and I already have the subs. so they are going in one way or another. im going to finish building my bumpers and while im doing that toss around different ideas on how to do the enclosure. ill go measure the tool box as it sits right now.

its not going to be a fast moving project I can assure you off that. im a full time college student and full time employee so I just do what I can a little at a time.
