Yeah, and a 500W amp on OEM electrical may not even ever make 500W

Most stock electrical can handle 500 watts no problem.

That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.

Yes it can but I mean bone stock as in most shops don't do big 3, and all of that. Not saying it's an overload on the electrical.

Nobody that actually knows anything will be able to tell you where to set your gains or anything else at over the internet, but we can help you get to where you need to be.

The installer of this gear, did they use an oscilloscope or a DD-1 to set your gains?

Also, does that amp have high level inputs or did they use a line out converter to send signal to the amp? LOC's are trash.

What you need to know is the maximum undistorted volume of the head unit, then the gain needs to be matched to that. Bass boost is usually a bad idea unless you only like a narrow band of bass to play well and to hell with the rest.

Where are you located at?

take the max number the headunit's volume goes up to and multiply by .75 This gives you the volume setting to use when setting gains

Stock Bose sound

If the car has a stock amp and you put a hi low converter after the amp your going to have problems

the only issue you would have is if you put the loc on the mids and highs that dont produce the sub-80 hert signals

Damn so even though my DD-1 says my HU is clean all the way to 40/40 I should only go to 30 since that's what you say to do?
