Want locked RMP's. Picked up a Vernier Cable. Who else runs one ?

Recommended Posts

Yo...

I want to set, lock, for get my RPM (not to mention, at bigger events, they will dq you for going over) while demo, or do my longer runs.

I snagged a vernier cable... just a "one for all" type.

Im looking for someone that has installed said locking cable, and how they like it. Pics, or better, VIDS would be cool. Where you put it, and all that. Ive gotten a few on other forums, face book and such. Just reaching out, to everyone, for it to go smooth, and work the way i want it. It should land this week. Ill plan where it will sit in cabin, hoping after i speak with some end users.

TIA for any help and support.

Kyle

When I put it in, I just pretty much rigged it under my dash by the parking brake and hood release KOB style.

I really didnt know where I wanted it either so zipties seemed logical at the time. LOL

Havent competed in the last 3-4 years or had a stereo in the truck most of that time either, so never really thought about cleaning up the ziptie mess. ha

I have it ran through the firewall, and over to my throttle body.

The thing is that you cant secure the other end to your throttle body or your throttle cable, because if you do you will be fighting that cable every time you hit the gas, and the throttle lock cable only moves when you twist it out.

So essentially attaching it will make you not able to push the gas pedal. LOL

I ended up bending a hook like shape and placing it under and behind the metal arm that the throttle cable is attached too, this way when you hit the gas the throttle lock does not interfere, but when you twist the throttle lock out it hooks that arm as the cable is shortened and pulls the arm up.

I actually think I did a video a few years ago.
